Maria Grazia Capraro- June 2026

Maria Grazia

Maria Grazia is an Organic Chemist by training. What initially inspired her to study chemistry was the idea of contributing to the development of new drugs. Although her career path evolved differently, she began her professional journey in a chemical company focused on green chemistry, where she worked for several years in Research & Development. During that time, she participated in multifunctional and European research projects, actively contributing to the synthesis of new bio polymers intended for use as bio plastics.

Working in that environment taught her that project success is not determined solely by the final deliverables, but also by the processes, collaboration, and structure behind them. This understanding marked the beginning of her interest in project management.

Later, Maria Grazia shifted her career toward Quality, first as a Quality Control Supervisor in Italy and now as a Quality Manager in Switzerland. To strengthen her expertise, she completed both Green Belt and Black Belt certifications, and once again found many touchpoints with project management principles. She is particularly interested in connecting with professionals who can share insights on how to better integrate project management methodologies into Quality Management.

Maria Grazia joined the PMI Switzerland Chapter to deepen her understanding of project management, exchange best practices, and expand her network within an international and multidisciplinary community. She values the opportunity for continuous learning and structured development, and looks forward to engaging with the community and contributing to future initiatives.

Having worked in both Italy and Switzerland and having participated in European R&D projects, Maria Grazia enjoys multicultural and cross functional environments. She is passionate about continuous improvement and the integration of Lean Six Sigma and project management principles into daily operations.

In her free time, Maria Grazia enjoys cycling and hiking while discovering Switzerland and its beautiful landscapes. She also loves baking and has recently developed an interest in crochet.
