Brunno is a translational neuroscientist with more than a decade of international academic research experience across Brazil, Ireland, Italy, and Switzerland. He is currently completing his postdoctoral work at ETH Zurich. His scientific background is in preclinical and translational research, together with molecular and RNA biology. Over the years, however, his role has expanded beyond bench work: he has coordinated multi-institution projects, supervised junior researchers, handled scientific reporting, and supported grant writing and development. This shift occurred as he became increasingly convinced that complex research programs must succeed operationally and strategically before they can succeed scientifically.

Brunno recognized that even the strongest scientific ideas cannot reach their full impact without structure, timing, clear communication, and alignment among stakeholders. This motivated him to formalize his project management skills by obtaining the CAPM certification. In his current role, he already coordinates and manages complex initiatives, so pursuing this certification felt like a natural next step. He is excited to join the PMI Switzerland Chapter and looks forward to connecting with professionals who operate at the intersection of science, innovation, and complex program delivery.

In his free time, Brunno enjoys cooking and baking and is always curious to explore new cuisines and food cultures. He travels whenever possible, valuing the discovery of new places, perspectives, and ways of thinking. To stay active, he regularly goes hiking and spends time at the gym, which helps him maintain balance and consistency in his routine. He also has a strong personal interest in the psychology of emotions and human behaviour, and he often reads in this area out of genuine curiosity about what drives people and how they interact with one another.

Brunno’s long-term goal is to work where scientific depth meets organizational clarity. He brings the perspective of someone who understands research from the inside but is increasingly motivated to step slightly outside it—structuring, connecting, and enabling teams to deliver meaningful outcomes.

Monika is an operations and supply chain management professional with a diverse background spanning real estate project management and manufacturing supply chain operations. She began her career at Cushman & Wakefield, a leading real estate project management consultancy, where she worked as a project manager and built foundational skills in coordinating complex real estate projects. That experience opened doors to procurement and supply chain work, leading her to transition into the medical device manufacturing sector, where she gained valuable exposure to regulated operations and supply chain management.

Currently, Monika serves as an Operational Buyer at Hitachi Energy in Zurich, a global manufacturer specializing in high-voltage products. In this role, she manages procurement activities for technical products and supports the supply chain across various components, engineering requirements, and operational excellence initiatives. The position allows her to leverage both her project management and procurement expertise in a highly technical manufacturing environment.

As an expat who began her Swiss career journey five years ago, Monika initially found it challenging to build a professional network and connect with peers who shared similar interests and backgrounds. This changed significantly when she achieved her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in October 2025—a milestone that not only validated her project management capabilities but also inspired her to engage more actively with the community. Motivated by a desire to expand her network, exchange knowledge with fellow project management practitioners, and accelerate her career growth, she decided to join the PMI Switzerland Chapter. She views the membership as an opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals, learn from diverse project management experiences across industries, and contribute to the broader project management community in Switzerland.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Monika maintains an active lifestyle that reflects her appreciation for Switzerland’s natural beauty and her commitment to personal wellness. Hiking in the Swiss Alps is one of her favourite pastimes, offering both a physical challenge and the chance to experience breathtaking landscapes. She also learned to swim a couple of years ago, which opened up new recreational possibilities. Currently, she is training for the Zurich Flughafen Lauf, a 7.5-kilometre run, as she continues to push her fitness boundaries and set new personal goals.

Alessandro Gagliano Candela is a Project Manager and Operations Controller with over 6 years of experience in industrial operations, cross-functional team leadership, and complex project delivery across the railway and manufacturing sectors.

He currently works at Speno International in Geneva, Switzerland, where he manages production and maintenance operations across multiple European countries, leading multidisciplinary teams and ensuring project performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.

Previously, he served as Project Planning Manager at Alstom S.P.A. in Italy, where he developed production planning for the SBB Pendolino fleet, coordinated R&D teams, and integrated supply chain processes through ERP systems.

Alessandro holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino. He is AgilePM certified and recently obtained his Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification from PMI — passing on his first attempt with 3x Above Target performance.

He joined the PMI Switzerland Chapter to connect with the local and international project management community, exchange best practices across industries, and contribute to the growth of the profession in Switzerland.

Originally from Palermo, Sicily, Alessandro is based in Geneva and is fluent in Italian, French, and English. Outside of work, he is passionate about vintage horology, tennis, and sailing.

Timothy Conix is a Project Manager with around twenty years of experience in IT and telecommunications. He currently works at Manuchar in Belgium, where he manages international IT infrastructure projects, including cloud migrations, cybersecurity enhancements, and data center–related initiatives.

Alongside his corporate role, Timothy is the founder of aiTTee.com, which focuses on modern workplace solutions based on Microsoft Intune, as well as Conix IT, through which he has supported more than 300 B2B and B2C clients with infrastructure, cloud, and network projects.

He joined the PMI Switzerland Chapter to actively engage with the Swiss project management community and explore potential professional opportunities in Switzerland. Timothy is a native Dutch speaker, speaks French as a second language, is fluent in English, and does not speak German.
