Alessandro Gagliano Candela

Alessandro Gagliano Candela is a Project Manager and Operations Controller with over 6 years of experience in industrial operations, cross-functional team leadership, and complex project delivery across the railway and manufacturing sectors.

He currently works at Speno International in Geneva, Switzerland, where he manages production and maintenance operations across multiple European countries, leading multidisciplinary teams and ensuring project performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.

Previously, he served as Project Planning Manager at Alstom S.P.A. in Italy, where he developed production planning for the SBB Pendolino fleet, coordinated R&D teams, and integrated supply chain processes through ERP systems.

Alessandro holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino. He is AgilePM certified and recently obtained his Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification from PMI — passing on his first attempt with 3x Above Target performance.

He joined the PMI Switzerland Chapter to connect with the local and international project management community, exchange best practices across industries, and contribute to the growth of the profession in Switzerland.

Originally from Palermo, Sicily, Alessandro is based in Geneva and is fluent in Italian, French, and English. Outside of work, he is passionate about vintage horology, tennis, and sailing.
