Bio
Dr. Eleonore Poli is a Swiss materials scientist and engineer working at the CSEM, the Swiss Centre of Technology, as a business developer for space & aeronautics and point of contact for the European Space Agency, after completing her Postdoc in Additive Manufacturing of Metals also at CSEM. She holds a PhD in materials and metallurgy from the university of Cambridge, and next to her studies has founded several organisations on space missions and sustainability, and was Vice.curator of the Global Shapers Cambridge Hub.
She now leads CHASM, the community of analogue space missions, driving efforts for research on space in europe and with parastronauts (astronauts with disabilities), after completing several of these space mission simulations, including the Swiss analogue mission Asclepios as crew commander and the AMADEE-24 mission in Armenia as ground operation team commander.
She is a pilot, an amateur athlete, pianist and photographer, and has developed experience in extreme environments such as the Arctic to prepare for large expeditions. She is on the board of the Swiss Space Museum and mentors as a STEM ambassador in several organisations.
