Dominique Chopard is Chief Digital Officer (CDO) and Legal & Compliance Counsel at Emch+Berger AG Bern, one of Switzerland's leading civil engineering and consulting firms. As a member of the extended executive management team, she is responsible for driving strategic digital transformation initiatives and helping shape the organization's approach to governance, innovation, and corporate development. Emch+Berger supports public and private clients in the planning, design, and delivery of complex infrastructure, transportation, environmental, and building projects throughout Switzerland and internationally.

As a Swiss attorney with an Executive MBA from the University of Zurich with a focus on Digital Transformation, Dominique combines legal expertise with practical leadership experience. At Emch+Berger she applies these skills across complex projects including digital innovation, civil engineering as well as business and organizational transformation projects. Her professional background spans law, compliance, data protection, risk management, and change management. Prior to joining Emch+Berger, she held legal, compliance, and data protection roles within an international retail organization, where she gained valuable experience operating in a large-scale, internationally regulated environment.

Throughout her career, Dominique has been involved in high-stakes negotiations involving commercial agreements, project risks and governance matters whilst maintaining stakeholder interests. This experience has shaped her strong belief that successful leadership depends not only on expertise and technology, but also on communication and the ability to navigate uncertainty.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Dominique is passionate about improvisational theatre, an activity she values for its lessons in listening, collaboration, creativity, and adaptability. She also maintains ties to Scotland, a country she visits regularly and whose culture and landscapes continue to inspire her. These experiences reinforce her conviction that meaningful innovation is ultimately about people and the ability to bring diverse perspectives together to create lasting value
