PMI Switzerland Chapter President

Do you know the feeling of being totally exhausted, but still somehow satisfied? Or that your head is overflowing with interesting information, but you still want more and more of it?

I had exactly this feeling one day before Halloween. On that Sunday, a four-day working meeting with more than 200 volunteers from over 35 European PMI chapters came to an end.

To be more precise: from October 27 to 30, after a two-year break due to the pandemic, the annual PMI Leadership Meeting (LIM) took place as an in-person event in golden Prague - which greeted us with fog every morning, only to reveal the fantastic view of the city just in time for the first coffee break.

Although I was really looking forward to what was in store for me in Prague when I made the trip on October 27, I was also feeling a bit queasy. For me it was the first event in over three years with so many people and then also from over 35 European countries.

During the four days there were many different presentations and workshops from PMI as well as from other chapters. Not only did we get to hear how PMI's new CEO Pierre le Mahn wants to develop and advance PMI, but we also got to learn from the many other chapters on how they do their various chapter tasks.

It is almost impossible to give a short but detailed summary of the days and nights with new and old PMI friends. But luckily I was not the only one joining from the Swiss Chapter. So I can rely on the help of my 5 teammates here, who were also taking part and who will share some of their personal resumes of the meeting with so many like-minded volunteers in the upcoming newsletters.

My two personal takeaways were and are finally:

- Together, we're better!
- There are many different ways to reach a goal, so why don't we try a different way than the one we are used to.

And one more thing was confirmed to me by the exchange with my 34 Chapter President colleagues and the other volunteers:

A recognition that I got by the exchange with my 34 chapter president colleagues and the other volunteers, is that the PMI Switzerland Chapter is one of the top chapters in many aspects in European comparison. Not only that we have with more than 1500 members a quite high membership rate in relation to the population, but also that we are e.g. in technological view one of the most advanced chapters.

And for this I would like to thank all former and current PMI Switzerland volunteers. Without your commitment, passion, and positive energy that you have brought in and for the chapter, we would not be where we are today. THANK YOU!

For the fast approaching, but also eagerly awaited Christmas season, I wish everyone some days of rest and relaxation, and then a good and healthy transition into the new year.

Take care of yourselves and your loved ones.

I am looking forward meeting you at our Annual Members Meeting at the beginning of February 2023 in Bern (https://pmi-switzerland.ch/index.php/events/amm2023).

Merry Christmas,

Stefan
