As summer brings new energy and opportunities, PMI Switzerland stands at the forefront of a dynamic transformation in the world of project management. This edition of our newsletter reflects the collective spirit, curiosity, and commitment of our members. From pioneering AI resources to driving social impact and from celebrating volunteer leadership to championing lifelong learning, our chapter continues to lead with purpose and innovation.

This year, we proudly launch the Members’ Choice banner, reflecting your top event topics and making our sessions truly member-driven. AI is rapidly transforming the field of project management. Our Curator’s Pick spotlights PMI’s AI Resource Hub, featuring publications, eLearning, and the exclusive PMI Infinity™ AI-powered coach. At PMI Switzerland, we see project management as a force for positive change beyond business. Our partnerships with PMWB, Homeless Entrepreneur, Bevel ON, Engineers Without Borders, and Doctors Without Borders show our commitment to social impact. These initiatives provide tangible benefits to communities in need. We invite every member to join us in making a difference—together, we amplify the power of projects to transform lives. Supporting initiatives like the Bevel ON Capacity Building Programme, we offer free training to professionals in transition, investing in human potential and community resilience. With over 220 graduates, this program shows how knowledge and coaching drive progress.

With the 2026-2027 elections on the horizon, we invite passionate members to step up and lead. If you live PMI values and are ready to commit, stand for election and help shape our future. Finally, our review of Robert Cialdini’s "Influence: New and Expanded" offers insight into the art of persuasion. The book is full of practical advice, but an abridged version may serve you best. In project management, understanding influence is essential.

PMI Switzerland Chapter Elections Announcement

At PMI, our volunteers are the cornerstone of all our initiatives. This ethos is reflected not only in our newsletter, website, and events but also in our chapter's strategy and leadership. As we approach the 2026-2027 election term, we are actively seeking committed PMI Switzerland Chapter members who:

• Embody PMI Values: Live and breathe the principles that guide our organization.
• Innovate: Bring practical ideas to elevate our chapter to new heights.
• Take Initiative: Exhibit a hands-on attitude to co-lead various committees, workstreams, and initiatives.
• Handle Complexity: Manage complex programs and demanding stakeholders with ease.

Empowering Impact: PMI Switzerland Supports Social Responsibility Through Project Management Training

 Recent training through the Bevel ON Capacity Building Programme supports skilled professionals, many of whom are in transition, to reskill, rebuild confidence, and relaunch their careers.

The PMI Official mobile app helps you maintain your PMI certification and deepen your project management expertise

PMI provides a mobile app that allows certified project professionals to manage their certifications and track track Professional Development Units (PDUs) accrual. Built for PMI-certified Project Professionals, this first release of the PMI Official mobile app lets you track and report PDUs to maintain your PMI certification, as well as find PDU-earning opportunities that support your career goals and learning style.

 At PMI Switzerland, we believe project management can be a catalyst for positive change — not just in businesses, but in communities around the world.

That belief comes to life through our growing partnership with PMWB – Project Management for the World, an initiative connecting experienced project professionals with nonprofit and humanitarian organizations that need structure, strategy, and skilled support to amplify their missions.

We’re excited to announce the launch of several social impact collaborations — each one powered by heart, driven by purpose, and aligned with our core mission: Making a difference through the power of projects.

🔹 Homeless Entrepreneur – Training & Mentoring
Our first initiative is already in motion! In partnership with other PMI chapters across Europe, we’re providing mentorship and project training to support Homeless Entrepreneur’s mission.

We’re working to co-design a mentoring program aimed at empowering individuals through personal and professional growth. 

🔹 Engineers Without Borders – PMO Setup
EWB is full of passionate people creating real-world solutions — now, they’re partnering with us to build the PMO structure they need to scale their impact. 

🔹 Doctors Without Borders – Agile Mentoring & Training | Initiation Stage

When every second counts, agility matters. We’re engaging with MSF to introduce Agile approaches that will help their teams work with greater flexibility and responsiveness in the field. The planning is underway — and we can’t wait to get started.

Robert Cialdini's Influence New and Expanded

 Cialdini is an expert, an expert in compliance? Perhaps. An expert in Influence? It looks like it.

An expert in relativity theory: most certainly. The man bends and stretches space with great skill.

Do not take this to mean that the book is worthless. On the contrary, it contains a lot of good advice.

What it also contains is a lot of convoluted arguments built to surprise you with the obvious, anecdotes and references to justify arguments that didn't need it, and rehashing of the greatest order.

After 450 pages that could have been 50, here is a review to justify my advice of reading an abridged version, abridged by someone else.
