Dear friends and members of PMI Switzerland,
Now that we have left the old year behind us, we are looking forward to the new year, in which we will hopefully soon be able to live a “normal” life again, although it will certainly be a “different normal”.
For us at PMI Switzerland this means that we finally want to host live events for our members and friends again, where we can talk to each other without “you're on mute” or “type your question into the chat”. A little thing that I'm personally looking forward to is the “sound of the glasses” while toasting. Until then - we assume that we can start after the summer holidays - we will have to be patient; but anticipation is known to be the greatest joy.
For a time being we will therefore initially continue with our established online events (e.g. the first PMO Coffee Talk on January 8th) and continue to offer exciting topics, but also to experiment with new formats.
As a first innovation, I would like to introduce a series of events with which we want to support our members both in further developing their careers and in finding new employment. As the first contribution we are happy to host an event on January 14th with Dr. Agate Czopek (currently President of PMI Switzerland): “New Years Resolution - Future Proof your Career''. Here you can get answers to questions like: How to stay relevant to the job market and how to prepare yourself for the challenge of finding new opportunities?
Another highlight of the year will follow on February 11th, to which we cordially invite everyone: our first virtual Annual Members Meeting (AMM2021).
After a short summary of the most important Chapter topics from 2020 and a quick outlook on what you can expect from the Chapter in 2021, we will take a look at our future world of work: “The Future of Work is Human”. Our three panelists will present an integrated view of the future and will examine the topic from a variety of focus angles:
- Al Zeitoun (PMI Fellow) will emphasize the future enterprise and its foundation being anchored in new cultures
- Luca Gambin (Sunrise) will showcase what the new normal coupled with technological enablers could bring
- Sarianna Benain (SITA Switzerland) will look at the challenges and changes in the nature of project work and the impact on project managers
But I've saved the best for last: because 2021 will be a very special year for PMI Switzerland. We are celebrating our 20th Anniversary this year. As part of the anniversary, we have some surprises in store for you. For example ... STOP, I don't want to reveal more here. To give a quick glimpse - we will provide more information on this during AMM2021 and from time to time our webpage (www.pmi-switzerland.ch) will also promulgate some new information related to our coming celebration activities. So stay tuned!
Now I hope my outlook for 2021 and the two aforementioned events have aroused your interest and you are looking forward together with us to an increasingly better year with many interesting and entertaining events with us.
I want to close my message with a big THANK YOU to all of our active and previous volunteers for their commitment and loyalty. Without you, PMI Switzerland wouldn't be where we are now!
- Good results always depend on Good People -
I wish us all a good and healthy year,
